Ariel's family has been killed because of Hook, after he discovered her voice can summon storms and went to any attempts to try and get her to work for him. She lives in constant fear of Hook until one day, she sees a boy who defeats and taunts Hook with ease. After almost getting captured, Peter Pan saves her while trying to find to get the Lost Boys to find her, she finds him. She tells him her story and Peter feels bad for her. It's then suggested that, since Hook wants a mermaid who summons storms, why not turn Ariel into a human and take away her voice? Tinkerbell does as such and all their problems are solved, until new ones are created. Now that Ariel is a human, Hook wants OTHER ways to have a child that can do what Ariel once could. So she gives him what he wanted.
