This is a story focusing on the blooming emotions of Zorome and Miku, while the entire Squad 13 reside in a boarding school with strict regulations. So, how do the people around them act towards their unusual relationship? With the klaxosaurs out of the equation, will our beloved parasites still be able to deal with their ever changing emotions?

Although Doctor Franxx notices some strange readings coming off the squad's Franxx during some standard repairs. These strange events include the mech's faces appearing when not pilots are present in the cockpit and the act of moving on their own. Eventually these strange occurrences lead to a shocking discovery, the Franxx have come to life and have personalities that are combinations of both their pilot's personality's. If that wasn't enough the Franxx start referring to their pilots as they're parents. Someone help this poor group of teenagers.
