Torin has always felt out of place in his small village. Despite the familiarity of his surroundings, he cannot shake the feeling that he doesn't belong. He longs for a place where he can truly be himself, away from the expectations of his people, a life free of the stifling weight of conformity. His dreams are filled with a sense of belonging, a vision of a life where he is accepted for who he is, not for who others expect him to be. One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.

In a small village, half hidden along a mountainside, Kieren was slinking between shadows. Footsteps sure even with so little moonlight. The softest brush of bare skin against knobbled and far-reaching trees. Not even a whisper of sound from stepping on the coarse dirt beneath his feet. In this world, Drakes were the epitome of power amongst the species. Only making up 10% of the population, humans making up the other 90%. Drakes could be found in the highest positions of power in communities or in positions to protect others (such as guards, watchmen, knights, patrolman). No one questioned this, dragons taking care of their own. A private species with traditions and rules that only dragons were privy to. Making sure none over-reached so that there would always be peace and harmony amongst the dragon territories and between humans. A symbiosis that all worked hard to maintain. Humans were born with vibrant and colorful hair throughout the world. The more rare the color, the more blessings, respect, luck and riches came to them. Fiery red, leafy green, aqua blue. Eyes that matched their brightest feature. Dressing in the same colors or even brighter shades to demonstrate their extravagance, their standing in society. They normally worked side by side with the higher ranking dragons, helping to keep harmony. All Kieren knew was that he would have to remain cloaked, face obscured at all times. The villagers said he was a defect, so they made him their servant. His skin too pale. Form too slight. Eyes not right. An ugly thing where he should be thankful they did not kill him right away. To be grateful for their pity and staying their hand. The worst, they would tell him, was about the coloring of his features; his hair and eyes. It was a color that had never been seen before amongst humans or dragons. *Please read tags! Don't like, don't read, don't leave unhelpful nasty comments.
Rise of Fire: Dragons Reborn [COMPLETED] by RosaleeRain
49 parts Complete Mature
The world had long since forgotten the age of dragons, those creatures that had once ruled the skies as gods had long since disappeared after the conclusion of the Great Demon Wars. Dragons became nothing more than a fading legend, a story to tell children at bedtime. But the gods could not let the dragons die, for they were the last defense against the demon armies and the dark god Vekkar. Talia had been born and raised in a world of darkness acting as an agent of Hephatus, goddess of assassins and death. She knew only a life of killing, sometimes for justice, sometimes for honor, always for money. Her morals were opaque at best. But when she's deployed to the city of Arboros she finds herself thrust into a world of political games, opposing powers, and constant threat. Nowhere was safe even for her. Her goals became muddied, and then lost altogether when she meets the Dwarven Prince. Bromyr had spent the last five years of his life chasing ghosts, desperate to find the lost dragon eggs. His people thought him crazy, his father stripped him of his titles, but he never gave up. Eventually his effort bore fruit and he hastily made way to return to his homeland only to get caught up in the city of Arboros. It was there that he met an intriguing half-giant, a woman who ignited a fire everywhere she went. In the end she was the one who inadvertently brought about the new age of dragons. What could go wrong when an ill tempered assassin becomes the first dragon rider of a new age? ***Cover made by annie1loves1you***

The Fanalis were a well-known people; the famed hunters and conquerors of the Dark Continent. With legs stronger than steel that could pierce a lion's heart with a single kick, they were a race to be feared. But also on the same land lived a dwindling race of people who were even more ferocious than the Fanalis. Rumored to fight like real monsters by ripping throats with sharp fangs, slicing to shreds with claws like daggers, and wielding the elements like gods in human form, this legendary race was believe to be naught but myth. The Drakonis. With their name akin to the mighty beasts of wing and scale, they fought with an unparalleled ferocity eagerly sought for by armies and empires. They were a deeply religious and strict society with laws that prevented outsiders from mingling to keep their bloodlines pure. As such their numbers began to dwindle and, with the ever growing demand for Drakonis and Fatalis slaves, their species became endangered. They could not be bred to produce more because each Drakonis can only choose one mate and can only have children with that one mate for the rest of their lives. If one mate was to die, then the other would feel like they had lost half their soul, but gaining a mate unlocks a Drakonis' full potential so not choosing a mate is like a bird never learning to fly. Purposeless. With their people hunted and lands razed, the mighty Drakonis faded into legend and their truths became gossip and the gossip became bedtime stories for children who wonder about adventure and travel. But there was one who hid her true identity, one who played human but always remembered her pride and home from whence she came. She took it upon herself to rebuild an empire for her people; one where they would not be threatened with extinction and isolation. But that's quite the tall order for a twelve year old girl, don't you think? She may just need a little help from our favorite miracle child. What do ya say? I only own Raz / my plot changes
