Katie Holt, a care free girl who lives in a small country with her family. She is told to honor her family name, but completely fails.

But when her father is told to fight in a war against the Galra, Knowing the Holt family doesn't have a son to send to the army, He accepts.

Refusing to let this happen, Katie takes her fathers place in the army, disguises as a boy, and rides off. Spirits sending a guide to help her.

But what will happen when when she meets Captain Takashi Shirogane? How does she deal with new friends in the army? What will it take to stop the Galra and save Altea?

A crystal fuses itself to a person, giving them the powers of that crystal and the ability to fuse with other Crystal Bearers. (Cool right? My friend made this all up, none of this was my idea, so you can say a big thank you to her for making this happen.) So the spiral light at the center of the universe was shattered into 9 shards and the universe has been in chaos ever since. Because the spiral light shattered, the Crystal Core was formed, and the Galra have been invading peaceful planets to them more power for the empire, and all that stuff. So Crystal Bearers are sent out on missions, freeing captured planets, freeing prisoners, recruiting new Crystal Cadets, stopping space piracy and other junk like that. I don't want to spoil anything else, so you have to read the book to find out what happens!
