"Oh, please. It isn't that hard." I scoffed, rolling my eyes at her. She narrowed her eyes at me, dropping her hand. "Nova, please. You've sat on the sidelines for the entirety of high school. You don't know the first thing about popularity." Monica retorted. "I know it's not hard." I replied easily, observing her tan complexion. "Prove it, then." She smirked, tapping the table with perfectly manicured fingernails. "Prove what?" I quirked an eyebrow. "Prove that popularity isn't hard. Become popular over senior year and maintain that popularity until we graduate." She smirked, raising her hand to shake. I paused, eyeing her hand while weighing the pros and cons in my head. I knew there was no point to it, though. Monica set a challenge, and I never back down from a challenge.

The Deal

Originally - you need me Synopsis "Why should I do this for you? What's in it for me?" I cross my arms, frustrated that I have to interact with Xander. "Because whether you like it or not, you need me," he says, stepping closer. I instinctively step back. "For one, Bianca and her minions will leave you alone." I back up until I hit the wall, and Xander places his hand beside my head. "And two, you know that since you moved next door, our moms have been wanting us to be together." Damn, he's right. Bianca has been more bothersome, now that we are seniors, I know she plans to make this school year a living hell. I look down at the floor, deep in thought. Xander lifts my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. His green eyes are flecked with gold and brown. "Fine, but we need to talk about conditions first." He takes a step back, but his face remains close to mine. "That's fine with me," Xander lifts his hand for me to shake. "So, do we have a deal?" I just fucked up the rest of my high school experience, didn't I. (More detailed description inside)
