Starting a day before the destruction of the Shigashina District, Samantha Braun, a new member of the Survey Corps, is on an expedition outside of the walls. After returning with no more than 20 people, the 107 years of undistrurbed peace within the walls comes to an end.
Samantha wanted to explore outside the walls when she joined the Survey Corps, however after the fall of Wall Maria, she could only be hidden within the birdcage humanity calls home.

The government is planning to disband the survey corps because of their recent failed mission, corruption inside the walls is increasing, the economic stability is faltering and Levi sits in the middle of it all, left behind at the HQ because of his sprained ankle, and he hated every single hour of his temporary vacation. However, his little 'time off' changes when he meets three orphans from the Shiganshina district.
