Cynthia Donald is just a college student trying to get by after losing basically everything she has, including all her money. When she finds a room to stay in at a huge mansion that just so happens to belong to the author she's admired since childhood, everything seems fine and settled, and she even has housemates she befriends. That's right. Everything is fine. Until she realizes she's at a place that's only supposed to be rented out by guys. And learns that the author she's idolized is a jerk. And meets a stuck-up actress who won't leave her alone. And finds out a secret she would've been better off without knowing. Yes. At this point of her life, Cynthia/Sid/Cindy/whatever-it-depends-on-the-situation Donald is just trying to get by.
