The Red Cloak reign was long and prosperous, an era that united the islands under one figurehead for the first time. For generations, the islands have enjoyed this peace, until the Purple Cloaks declare a war and then end it all on the same night.
With the reign of his father over, Chessren is forced to don the crown as a puppet for those who murdered his family. His sister, Tariyne, escapes capture. Fleeing the island, she seeks to rally the other Cloaks as her allies to retake her home.
