A Different Virus - Laura's Story
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? "Mur'ring!" I yelled. "Wake up! Ra'dok got bit by a coyote." Mur'ring sprung to his feet. "Let me see." He inspected the wound with a bad look on his face. "We have to disinfect it." "Yeah okay, whatever just help him he's bleeding out." Mur'ring let go of Ra'dok's leg and turned to me, "you don't have to be an asshole, you asked me," he said. "Help him!" I yelled. Mur'ring walked to the back of the cell and moved a cement block from the wall. He pulled out a bottle of clear liquid. "I was saving this for a special occasion, but given the situation I guess-" "Will you shut the fuck up and help him?!" Mur'ring poured the liquid on the wound. Ra'dok yelled. A guard smacked the door. "Shut the hell up in there!" Mur'ring wrapped some cloth around the wound and Ra'dok stopped bleeding. He let Ra'dok take a few sips of the liquid, which made him gag but sedated him. After a while we all fell asleep. I know it looks like this story is about Japan but it's not. The Lands of the Rising Sun are referring to the East Coast of the United States of America. Set in a post apocalyptic world. Ma'tuk, Ra'dok and Mur'ring are three slaves that share a cell and work in the mining fields. They discover a secret and set in motion a series of events to jailbreak the slaves. The story is told in two parts. The second part follows a team of bounty hunters that find a valuable man and must nurse him back to health. In order to see a doctor they must embark on a mission to gain access to the doctor. This wonderful adventure is very graphic and explores aspects of the mind in terms of spirituality, the human condition and the fate of man.Complete

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! So, the poor lady thinks that I will leave her alone and just let her go free?' He had that evil laugh and boy, his breath stank. 'Man, you just signed your death warrant and I will do one favour on you.' No one messes with me. 'Ooooh, I am so scared that I almost peed my pants.' Again that idiotic laugh. I counted till 5 and then kicked right in his balls. I turned around and grabbed his hair from roots, jerked them so badly and then gave my hard elbow shot on his chin. Everything happened so fast for one moment he was standing and the other lying on floor wiggling. I charged at him with my cheetah speed, picked up a wooden rod and started hitting him wildly, 'You idiotic stinky breath was trying to steal my backpack. You are so dead.' 'Favour, favour, favour.' He was screaming in pain just after few seconds and was panting hard. I picked my paste from my bag and threw at him, 'Brush your teeth.' I was fuming. I turned around and saw him standing wide-eyed, 'Hi, I am Scarlett.' I smiled showing my 32 teeth. 'I am scared.' His look puzzled me.
