Set in a Modern-Day Universe particularly made by Zeref, after activating the Magic of Fairy Heart, whereon he accesses a mode that he himself calls "surpassing a God of time and space". With the suppressing power, he transported Natsu in this dimension to teach him a lesson that having friends beside and to protect for isn't everything and should learn what was important most; a feeling more than companions could take.

The only way Natsu can return is to find someone who will love truly love him as long as he does the same, which can activate the [ Nexus ] opening a Portal back to his own world. However, with him being completely oblivious, insensible and incompetent when it comes to deep affection, Natsu make attempts to distinguish what love really means and how it differs from friendship. 

Struggling his everyday life trying to find a person that would let him return without exposing of what he is and what he can do, an accident happened one day, on which, in fact, a supposed fated meeting:

Natsu founds Lucy.

But for the girl who can change Natsu's fate, she doesn't know who Natsu is.
