Amanda and Stefan have always been close to each other. but over time Stefan's feelings grew for Amanda since she was pregnant with his brother's child.  Stefan knew he had to back away from her because he didn't want to get in the middle of his brother's happiness. then his heart ripped out of his chest when he seen Amanda has fell in love with Klaus
