"The greatest of men are those with a thousand scars. Because great men are forged in the healing of a thousand wounds."

Clone Trooper Assasin Creed has spend half his life training and fighting a war for the Republic, but not by their rules. He's spent decades defending peace and saving lives. He's seen it all from victory to death and endured everything from torture to insanity. However, he didn't come through it all unscathed. Instead, he lost a hundred battles and suffered a thousand wounds.

But In the end, he came through a great man, with a thousand scars to prove it.

Nearly five years ago, the Clone Wars ended with a purge that wiped an entire people from the galaxy. Jess, formerly known as CC-9976, a member of the 21st Nova Corps, shot down his Jedi general in accordance with Order 66. Now, Jess finds himself a stormtrooper for the Galactic Empire. The Empire is not the Republic that he was once so proud to serve. Jess finds himself being tested in ways he never was before. As the Empire tightens its fist around the galaxy, Jess makes the decision to escape. Jess makes his way out of Imperial control and, eventually, into the hands of the Rebellion. War is all he's ever known. Whether he is a clone, an Imperial soldier, or a Rebel fighter, one fact remains. He is a trooper and war is in his blood. Ryn Alera has only known slavery throughout her life. The last place she expected to find help was with the Empire. When Ryn is due to serve the rest of her life on Kessel, she makes a stand for her freedom. When a rogue stormtrooper helps her escape, Ryn finds herself trapped in a whirlwind of war and danger. Gradually, she adjusts to her new life on the run, and later, in the Rebellion. As she grows closer with Jess, the man who helped her escape, her values begin to change. She wasn't born a fighter, but if the galaxy's freedom requires it, she will be a soldier. Warning This book, while being a work of fiction, still contains real elements and deals with the subject of war. There will be chapters that deal with abuse, death, slight gore, etc. (Canon characters as well as planets within the Star Wars universe are not created by me. I only take credit for my original characters and this story.) There was once a story of a man who could take on whole armies and survive. A man thought to be more machine than human, something that could rival the Sith. That story was wrong, this man could take on empires and the Sith, they feared him. His name echoes in the shadows, an unspoken hero of freedom and democracy; 117. This story is a rewritten version of the original Project Ares (by me) and features extra content and better/more concise chapters. Still, I do not take credit for the characters, only the story.
