Izzy is an aspiring investigative journalist desperate to escape the catty, make-believe world of the celebrity drama she writes about for an up-and-coming digital media site. Yet an exclusive story on Aiden Martinez-winner of two grammys for Best New Artist and Song of the Year and on-and-off boyfriend of Macy Lin-not only pushes her writing into the spotlight for the first time but also forces her to hide behind her pen name permanently. What the public and Aiden don't know is that Izzy is really Elizabeth Barkley, part-time barista of the café inside Ember Records Studio, and that following "Izzy's" rise to fame Elizabeth finds herself on a date with Aiden.
