Y/N Pallas, a young, genius scientist, finds the dead body of Newt, a kind, magnanimous boy, while fleeing from the last city. Seeing that he had only been dead under an hour due to her knowledge, she dragged him out of the city with her, seeing he could still live if she tried to save him.

Y/N brings Newt to a small hideout she has outside of the crumbling, burning city, filled with all of her different serums, herbs, and medications. She injects him with a serum to kickstart his heart, and a cure to the Flare virus made with her own blood. To her surprise, she brings Newt back to life, healthy, and free of the virus.

Y/N learns about Newt, and the rest of his friends, including Thomas, Minho, Brenda, and Gally. She forms friendships with all of them, but it was when she brought Newt back to life when Y/N realized her life would never be the same.
