[PG13] October doesn't really know what's going on. He just woke up in a room and was told that his name is October and that there are eleven others who live with him. These are the Months. They don't know why they've been gathered into the large house that they share, but they feel happy and safe. Only the Seasons know of their fate, for they are the scientists; the Months are the test subjects. The Seasons hypothesize that maybe this time, all twelve of their subjects will survive the maze. But is it really an experiment, or is it just a game?

This story is about a girl named Rhea Cunnings, about 17-18, who needs money for her college tuition. She sees a flier that advertises a clinical trial. It doesn't have much information about the drug, but the offer is a lot of money, so she takes it. When she gets brought to a large building where she is assigned her "room", she realizes that the whole thing was a lie. They *are* testing a drug, a very dangerous one. After she gets her first test (against her will) she realizes that she has new abilities. She can read people's minds. She meets another girl there, Astrid, who has these same abilities, and they team up to escape the place and warn everyone about the scientists experimenting on humans. But can Rhea trust her accomplice?
