Desiré Sayoko grew up in a small house, hidden away from the world until one day everything changed. At age 8 she was seemingly an insignifigant girl, despite being a miracle child. Born to parents who thought themselves to be infertile, her life was a surprise, and a hidden one for many years. Once the government found out about her existence at age 8, her parents were sent away from her and she went to the big city of New Tokyo, the most crime ridden but also the safest city in all of Japan. Populated by people with powers (mandated by the government), some of them fight crime, calling themselves "Heros", like from old comic books. Due to the increase and popularity of Heros, criminals with powers rose as well, calling themselves "Villains". Now Desiré, without clear-cut powers of her own, must try to function in a society where 99% of the people around her have incredible powers, without standing out.
That won't be too difficult, right?
Well at age 17, she gets involved in a fight between heros and a new league of villains and her whole world is flipped upside down. She realizes not everything is black and white and questions everything, even those closest to her.
After all, how can you trust anyone if you can't trust yourself?
Find out what happens to this no-body in, "Insignificant."
In a world where heroes and villains are more than just fiction, a little 5 year old has dreams to be a hero. Hero you say? How cliche, you may think. But it's her dream...right?
However, dreams are just that. Dreams. Easily forgotten and unrealistic. She realized this when she was 13.
She grew up with a family full of control, guidance and plans. Not dreams. Her whole life had been planned out for her, and being a hero had no part in it. Her parent's words were law.
Join a reputable high school. Go to university to study something in the medical field. Graduate. Get a job. Start a family. Work till retirement.
But that's not the kind of life she wanted to live.
She'd rather be anything other than what they wanted. If it meant stepping into a dark alleyway, so be it.
(This starts at pre-canon then eventually reaches canon. There are two endings to this fic - 'Hero' and 'Villain')
