A girl with a traumatic past is thrust into a world she doesn't feel like she belongs in when her mother is sent to jail. After several months of just going through the motions her new guardians insist she goes back into tutoring so she can get her grades up to A's, but they can't find a tutor. 
A boy with a pair of 'wonderfully successful' parents and a navy brother raising him and his siblings gets paired with a girl he had never seen before on the baby project for health, which counts as twenty-five percent of his final grade! He quickly becomes entranced with her mysterious past and even odder personality so they strike a deal. 
He'll tutor her in exchange for her answering his questions about her. 
He gave her two Veto's a day. 
Will he learn the truth about her? Or will her past consume her so there is nothing left to give?

Lucy Smith is entering into her first year of high school, going to school with her best friend and four out of her five older, protective brothers. Being part of the Smith family gives her some different effects on the the guys around her and some people don't take too kindly to that.
