   This is a story about the perilous flight of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, and their stay in an unfortunate city with unfortunate secrets and even more unfortunate villains. 
    Gotham City is hardly a city for a common rat found in English sewers, let alone three, ( and later four ) young people. I am sorry to tell you this, but it is how the story goes.

I am here to tell you what happened after the Baudelaires and Beatrice II set sail for Briny Beach. I cannot tell you much but it involves an unexpected encounter with a lost relative, a man with hair but no beard and woman with a beard and no hair (or vice versa) and of course, the search for the stolen sugar bowl Wanderlust is a word which here means "a lust for wandering;" but if you have read the exceedingly long novel of Leo Tolstoy entitled 'Anna Karenina' then you know that a rural life of moral simplicity, despite its monotony, is the preferable personal narrative to a daring life of impulsive passion, which only AND always leads to tragedy.
