Zack is an 11 year old boy, he's had a terrible past and things don't get THAT easy for him in High school, meeting new friends, going to places he would only dream of before and living the reality he wants, enjoying himself.
He goes from flat zero to big hero, or.. half a hero. He goes through Year 7 all the way to college learning new things and becoming a stronger individual. Inside him is a sinister presence that 'seems' to help him when he needs it but, there is a recoil.
The more he uses 'it', the more it takes over his body.
He learns about his own meaning of life..
