Meet Travis, a fourteen year d boy who's an only child of Katrina Valcrumb. Katrina is a very loving mother but doesn't always makes the best decisions when it comes to men. One day Katrina tells Travis that she's getting married with a man she's known for quiet some time. Everything started off normal at first until Travis's dad starts abusing Travis. Travis's dad suffers from Bipolar Disorder. Travis starts listening to the hate filled words his father spews at him and doesn't have confidence in his self anymore.

Travis has to start going to a regular school starting the next school year. Travis worries constantly about s kid finding out about how he feels and his secrets. He doesn't open up to many people because of it. But what happens when someone finds Travis's secret and uses it against him?

Meet Zane. Zane is the second born child and the less social child of the three Ro'mave children. He lives in his big Brother's shadow because his big brother is the "all American dream". Zane doesn't talk to many people other than people he actually has to talk to. But, Zane soon finds out that Travis has a little secret of his own and uses that to get what he wants.
