*I thank Crystal Scherer for the wonderful book that inspired this run off story that takes place in the same universe! I dedicate this story as a gift to her and all her readers!*

Aspen wasn't the only one to be kidnapped and turned into a dragonet, but she WAS the only one who had a something to hide, outside of their human intelligence. Armed with nothing but the wings on her back and the claws on her feet, Aspen did her best just to survive her new environment. 

But just as she was starting to get used to her surroundings and her newly acquired skills, the rug is pulled out from underneath her once again. Now with the looming threat of aliens, aliens, and more aliens, Aspen has even more piled onto her already overflowing plate.


Sneak peak: 
It wasn't fair. And knowing that unfairness was just part of life, didn't make me feel any better. Life had dealt us a hand of rotting lemons and all I wanted to do was throw them and make life take them back. But I couldn't. I was stuck with these rotting lemons and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get rid of them.

(Quick disclamer: Most characters within this story are my own. The universe is not mine. I might have slipped from cannon an intsy tiny bit. My story in no way rips off Crystal Scherer's original story of Upon Wings of Change. Only builds upon it. Please read the original before reading this side story or else it might not make a whole lot of sense. Also read the original because it's AMAZING.)

'The largest egg in mountain high, will give to you the wings of sky.' We all know how the SkyWing egg was lost right? Well, in this world, what if the SkyWing egg didn't shatter? What if the dragonet inside it actually survived? What if the SkyWing was hidden in a deep pit with only a sick IceWing guardian to take care of? After ten years, when the war of the SandWing Succession has finally come to a glorious ending and the Eye of Onyx has crowned Thorn as their new SandWing queen, Soaren, the surviving SkyWing, has been having trouble living in the pit for ten years all his life. He wanted to see the world. He wanted the sun to finally touch his scales. He wanted to spread his wings freely. His very, very large wings. When his IceWing guardian was about to die of SandWing venom, Soaren was determined to save him by travelling to the Rainforest, where he heard he could retrieve the cure for the venom. It would have been easier than going to the Sand Kingdom. But as Soaren flies through his journey, he meets a peculiar dragon as he passes the Sea Kingdom and some interesting dragons while he stays in the Rainforest. However, a strange occurrence happened at Jade Mountain. He and a few friends try to solve the mystery, gathering up all the clues while the SkyWing wonders if he should go back to his guardian. Soaren had hid his true identity as the 'lost' SkyWing, but he needs to eventually open up. With the NightWings in the Rainforest, more mind readers will be born and they'll find out who he is. But worst of all, he'll have to face something far more terrible than anyone could have imagined... Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters from the best book series in the world, they are the characters of the great and magnificent Tui T. Sutherland. The only characters I own are my OCs. A New Beginning: Tessa's Story by CrystalScherer

Optional sequel to Upon Wings Of Change. (This is a version with *JUST* Tessa's POV (different from the main version, which has 3 POVs. Was my attempt to revise the slower pacing, but I'm not sure how well it worked, but since I put in the work, here it is.) Summary: The dragonets are flourishing; both those in the park and those helping the Kymari. As the first dragonets to hatch in the Kymari civilization, Tessa and her brother are paving a new path as they grow up and learn how to fit into the world. New beginnings are often great things, but sometimes shadows from the distant past come calling. Excerpt: I braced my feet against the wall as I pulled. Suddenly, the lever swung downward. I lost my grip and tumbled backward. I landed on my side and slid across the counter. My legs and tail flailed as I tried to get to my feet or slow down-but I didn't manage it in time. Almost in slow motion, my feet went off the counter as I slid into the air. Without thinking, my wings popped open and beat hard as I twisted, trying to turn right side up so I could fly properly. I blinked in shock when I realized I was already flying upward. Grinning triumphantly, I beat my wings again and went back to the counter. Pleased with my flying abilities, I proudly landed on the counter - and forgot to slow down, which promptly sent me sliding across the slippery surface, lightly colliding with the glass door. I ducked my head sheepishly, glad no one else had seen that. My eyes locked onto the gap between the glass doors. With an eager grin, I pressed my shoulder against the edge and pushed. My feet struggled to find traction, but it was opening! Once I pushed the door far enough, I scampered over to the cantaloupe. It was much bigger up close. I blinked slowly, trying to think about how I was going to move it. There was no way I'd be able to lift it. It was round though. Round things could roll, right?

It was just a normal day for Dawn like every other day she went to school and came home. This time it's different she won't be going home, instead she will end up in a cave with a Dragon. The Dragon gives her two choices to be executed in front of the whole tribe or to stay. She wants to leave but she knows the consequences of escaping but instead of escaping she stays. -------------------------- No one in the small town of Diamond knew what happened, they thought she ran away or worse they thought she died some tragic death, now one of them knows what happened but who?. -------------------------- "We need to find her and fast!". "But, Mayra a dragon took her it couldn't have gotten that far right?". A voice asked her, cowering In the darkness of her stone house. "Of course It will go far its a Dragon!, But at least we know which direction it went, Right?". Mayra asked the voice. "Y-Yes it went Northwest!, But how will we find her?". The voice asked again. "We ask it or them what happened". Mayra said, her gem necklace rested firmly on her neck. "But how do we do that?". The voice questioned while still in the darkness of her house. "Well I found something in my daughters room that might help me". She held up a leather book with small gems like ruby, sapphire and emerald imbedded into it. The title read: Dawns guide to speaking Dragon. Mayra opened the book and a bunch of symbols and markings were written on the pages and on the first page was a translator of Dragon into English. Wings of Fire doesn't belong to me it belongs to Tui T Sutherland.

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes.
