Joie Carmichael known as "joi" is an misunderstood teenager with anger issues she wasn't always like this coming up she was a very quiet and sweet girl but she always spoke her mind, she started becoming angry when she saw her father beating on her mother for no reason.
Joie wants to help her mother but her mother refuses her help because she doesn't want joie father to leave them, joie has a lot of hate in her heart towards her dad she really hates him.
Her hatred isn't just for him it's also for the boys who murdered her brother right in front of her & that's something that has her angry for life especially knowing that the boys who killed him claimed that they were his go ride for him forever, there's no forgiveness for them but no one would ever understand why she is so angry & in order for her to express her anger she acts out.
But that's the life of living on 4th Street and she understood that you can either let it break you or make you and she still hasn't decided.
