The Jones are a family living in the Great Depression. Henry and Linda have two daughters, Olivia Williams and Jane Jones. Olivia has moved out and gotten married, and has even had a few children. Jane, on the other hand, is only sixteen and is still living at home, but she is in love and is planning to be married to the man of her dreams, James Anderson. But her whole world gets turned upside down. Her parents can't afford the rent anymore, and they have to move into a large house with over twelve other families. It doesn't sound bad to Jane, until she realizes it's in a different town which is four hours away by train. She refuses, but is forced to go along with her parents. They arrive at the odd-house, house number fourty-three, and Jane meets many people on the first day. There's something about these people, though, but Jane just doesn't know what it is.

{{Believe in the unimaginable when it comes to love.}} Jane was just an ordinary girl when one day everything came crushing down her life. She lost her father at a very young age and had to see her mother remarry another man. But just when she thought things were going to be fine, a new family moves in right next door. She is not only intrigued about this new family, but what caught her attention was their son; Alexander. It all seemed like a dream to her when he first call her name and when he was the first one to be there for her whenever she felt sad. For once, Jane felt like she could trust anyone without feeling sad, but she couldn’t help but to feel that there was something else that Alexander was keeping from her. Will she ever trust him again after she finds out his true identity? Or when he tells her that he is in love with her?
