Queen of the ice, Gen Beaumont, has more than enough accomplishments under her belt. Her 1 Olympic, 3 World, and 6 Grand Prix titles are just the tip of the iceberg. To top it all off, there's the endorsement deals, her highly popular YouTube channel, and a loving family to top it all off Of course, there's the small, insignificant issue that all of her achievements are shared with none other than her partner, Evan. When it comes to skating partners, Evan Duval is the best there is. They are the only competing pair with a consistent throw quad salchow, their death spiral is one of the fastest in the business, and they have the most electric on-ice chemistry, according to their fans. The only problem? Her perfect on-ice partner is one of her most hated off-ice enemies. But of course, there's a thin line between love and hate... ------ Hey all! I know I haven't finished my other stories, but I couldn't keep this one under covers any longer! If you are a figure skating fan like me, you'll definitely see where I take inspiration from for certain characters, give me a holla if you figure out who! Of course, no character is based off of one specific skater, so many guesses are valid. I'll reveal it at the end of the story, but if you're hardcore enough, you'll definitely see it. :) Happy reading!

When a total stranger knows what eats you, maybe they are your one true love. Even if you don't know it yet. || On Friday the 13th, two twenty-something, Daya and Mike, end up in a mutually beneficial arrangement: she is his caregiver after he breaks his foot; he provides room&board to help her out with a teeny-tiny cash flow problem. Not a whiff of a romance, strictly business. And for a while, all is good... for about five minutes, that is. What can an overweight man, a video game obsessed librarian, know about her quitting a challenging sport of figure skating, Daya scoffs. He needs to get off her case and sort out his binge eating! What does a celery-chewing skating diva care about his failure as a PhD candidate, Mike wonders. She is just replacing her dreams with his non-existing problems instead of pursuing her one true passion! With the two already teetering on the brink of mutually assured destruction, oil splashes onto the flames when Daya resumes her never-ending quest for skating triumph at Canadian Nationals. (Well, that should make Mike happy, right? Right?) But isn't there *something* worth fighting for *together*? Like, you know, love? COMPLETED. First Published: August 19, 2019 Trigger warning: This story contains themes of eating disorders and body image insecurity (male).
