Seventeen year old Laika has spent the last eleven years of her life in the Conservatory, a national hospital so specialized that it works to treat just one single illness.

Novovirus. Also known as the "changing virus". Responsible for nearly destroying humanity ten years ago, it is now kept in check by mass vaccinations. But that's not enough to help the patients at the Conservatory.  They're sick, they're contagious, and the Conservatory is here to help them. 

Except when Laika finds another patient sneaking into her room, she is faced with a different story. Peter isn't ill, and he definitely doesn't want any treatments. Together with Peter, Laika slowly begins to learn the truth about The Conservatory and is faced with a shocking secret that threatens to not only destroy her, but everything she has ever believed in.All Rights Reserved
