Follow the adventures of the finest Dragon rescuer in all the archipelago, Cadman Nob! Born into a dragon hunting tribe of fierce Vikings and cousin of Eret, Cadman was different from everyone else because he felt sorry for the dragons they trapped and sold. He found an orphaned baby Thunderdrum and tried to raise it but was caught and given the harsh ultimatum: be one of them and get rid of the dragon, or leave the tribe. Cadman sailed away and he and the Thunderdrum, who he named Thundermaw, discovered Valka's Dragon Sanctuary, learned the ways of rescuing dragons, and discovered their true calling. This is the story about how he defied the odds, disregarded the danger, and became a true friend and father to dragons.

A dragon that glows as bright as the sun and is capable of freezing its enemies in fear. The dragon is struck down, but Alice finds it injured on the small island where the group temporarily set up camp. She frees the dragon and flees back to her camp, but as time goes on she finds herself going back to find the dragon and even befriending it. During all of this she discovers a side to dragons that no one from her tribe ever saw, and she makes it her job to warn the chief of Berk before Alryne can take the king of dragons and put the entire dragon kind at jeopardy.
