After months being held prisoner, Aven runs out the door, straight into the apocalypse. For almost two years, she faces the world mostly on her own, reveling in the independence her intuition and survival skills allow her. But her luck seems to be running out, as she lies deleriously ill on the forest floor, being surrounded by a gang ready to claim her as their own. But before they can take her independence, someone else does. Will she crumble in his hands or crack the earth beneath his feet?
