Book 1 of the series Tales of Strangeness and Charm Three mismatched adventurers set out on a journey that will prove to be far longer and stranger than any of them could possibly anticipate. Driven by a shared interest in an enigmatic device from beyond their world, their quest will forge and test friendships; encounter terrible foes and likely lead to rather a lot of whinging. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is merely a children's book. It might appear to hold a simple, facile tale of foolish phantasmagoria, but appearances can be deceptive. Follow this story: To Witness Feats of Daring Do, and Quite a Few of Daring Don't The quest is important, except when it isn't, which is often. Despite frequent digressions into philosophical quandaries, unplanned doilies, and fights with fowl, there's sometimes still a faint glimmer of something important happening. This blend of action and absurdity offers readers a mix of excitement and humor. To Read Tales Layered Like a Palimpsest of Madness Each story is written over another, creating layers of hidden meanings that beg to be uncovered. This aspect appeals to readers who enjoy complex narratives that reveal new details upon rereading, adding depth to the experience. Because Grimmbros Is the Hero You Never Knew You Needed Follow Grimmbros as his finely tailored yellow tweed suit with an orange twill running through it gradually falls apart along with his patience with halflings. This characterization provides a relatable hero who embodies charm and frustration, engaging readers with his journey and growth.

ONC2025 Rafe Daring is not a hero known for his bravery. He is a farm boy known for being stubborn, cheeky, and doing things haphazardly, which always leads to chaos. When he flees town on his motorcycle, chased by the boy he'd turned into his nemesis, Rafe veers from safety to avoid his enemy. He ventures onto a strangled path through the forbidden forest, a vast stretch of access-restricted nature reserve bordering his family's farm. As with most of his decisions, this one also leads to disaster. Soon, Rafe finds himself injured and lost at the bottom of a steep slope, trying to find his way home. When he stumbles into a briar vine-covered wall, he decides that his only way home might be through what appears to be an archway clogged by vines. However, he is unprepared for what waits for him when he breaks through the thick, thorny briar vines. Finding himself in an increasingly dangerous and confusing situation, he realises that this time, he'd outdone himself in the art of making extraordinarily bad decisions. He has one question that stands out above all his other questions: "Who would be dumb enough to give an idiot like me superpowers?!" TW: Some chapters might have upsetting themes; reader discretion is advised. ONC2025 Prompt 1: You stumble upon a mysterious door made entirely of briars and thorns. As you step through, you're granted extraordinary powers. But with great power comes great responsibility - it's now your duty to save the crumbling kingdom. Word Count (WP Web) = 39 269

A vampire raised by humans, an OCD elf, a hyper active werewolf and a grumpy angel have six months to reach a forsaken realm called The Firelands (formerly The Dragon Realm). Should be simple right? Its not like they have a group of hunters of their tail, have to find four mostly-unhelpful dragons and, in general, don't get along with each other. Nah, this will be easy. Can't be that hard to escape the goblin tunnels. A giant who fancies himself a chef can't be that much of a threat. And they certainly don't almost kill each other on one very awkward night in a vampire city. What could possibly go wrong? All Kalen, Zedkiel, Incendio and Theth have to do is survive the journey of a lifetime and see that they live long enough fix a realm that Fate gave up on fifty years ago. And Lady Fate is on their side right? .... Right?
