After the war with Gaea, Percy thought his life might be okay. He thought he might be able to live a normal life with his girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. Nope. He could just imagine the fates laughing and they bounced their creepy knives and stuff over his string, which would no longer cut. He imagined them cackling at his misfortune. Percy Jackson was now a greek god. He was immortal. He could never die.

Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn. His longing for justice is growing and the more bitter he becomes, the more it sinks in that without Annabeth, he has nothing left to fight for. But then again, there's nothing holding him back. Revenge is something that has long been above Percy. But at the end of the day, at least it's something to fight for. The gods have forgotten that loyalty goes both ways.
