Wren Woods, a girl who loved working on the farm and joking around with her brothers and caring for her sick father. With no mother and to only be surrounded by men, she had learned things that most girls don't know at her age.
With a temper that threatens to boil over and a smart mouth to those who think lowly, Wren captures the kingdoms heart when she ventures out into the Kingdom Central City.
But there was more to Wren than even Wren herself didn't know.

She just wanted to run away from here and hide somewhere. She doesn't know the man who was standing in front of her right now. He was hurting her, scaring her and behaving like a monster. The man she knows he was different. Hell different from him, his hold was perfect for her fragile body, his voice which was heaven peace for her and his touch which was gentle unlike this. "No... no. I don't want to go anywhere with you... I don't want to be with you anymore." She move her head hysterically and tried to free herself but instead, she get more pain when he tightened his hold on her and dig his fingers on her waist. "You are scaring me," she confessed meekly crying and her breath get uneven. "Oh! Sweetheart, I didn't do anything yet and you are already scared of me? Then what will you do when I'll punish you for your betrayal?" The threat hidden in his words causes a shiver down her spine and she feels intimidated. "Just come with me or you will see the worst side of me. " He stated simply. Wren's life is about to change forever - but not how she expects it to. Kidnapped on her wedding day, she finds herself trapped in a mountain cave, unable to return home with no company outside of the inhuman creature that took her. *** "Wait, Wren! Not that way!" It was darker here and panic limited her vision, but she could see it reaching for her; its wings like two huge looming shadows behind it. "Get away! Don't touch me! No, let me go!" She shrieked. She screamed in earnest as a hand took hold of her arm, and then even more when her own hand reached for something to hang onto and grasped at empty air. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. It hurt. "L-let me go, you, you're hurting me!" I looked up at him scared, his eyes were now completely dark, and the next thing I noticed were pointed teeth poking out from his lips. I screamed and pushed at him but he didn't budge. I then raised my knee and kneed him between the legs with all my force, and he dropped like a rock, holding his groin. Run. I took my chance. But as time continues to pass and tensions grow higher, Star hears whispers about a growing rebellion that could dissolve the current monarchy and bring her back home. She decides to help, along with her friends, and begins to realize that being young does not exclude her from the horrors of war, and she is faced with the fact that even if she is able to return home, nothing-not even her-will ever be the same. *Basically, a YA novel with teenagers being teenagers, more gay, more diversity, a lot more swearing, and darker humor. "Holy shit, I'm naked with you." She exasperated, like she just now realized what she's done. She's never felt more exposed and terrified in her life. She was completely vulnerable to him in that moment. He could pounce on her in a split second, have his was with her, and she wouldn't be able to stop him. There it was again.
