Lura Thranduilliel is a kind, yet fragile elleth, daughter of Thranduil and sister to Legolas Thranduillion. Her mother died about 2800 years before she was born, using her last ounces of strength to save her unborn child. 2800 years later, she magically appeared in Mirkwood, (because of her mother's will) equipped with enhanced powers from being brought back from the brink of death by magic. She was 200 during the quest for Erebor, and 500 once the Fellowship of the Ring was made.

This is the story after the quest for the Lonely Mountain. This is the story after the dwarves found Erebor and reveled in all the treasures it held. But it is before the War of the Ring. It is the story in between.

It is the story of Lura.

Her father hated her for the longest time, blaming her for his wife's death, shunning her because Lura looked like her. To "protect her", he kept her inside the castle, locked inside only to wander the castle like a ghost. She must rise from the ashes. She must rise, but how can she with a broken wing?

WATTYS SHORTLIST 2018 The heart desires the unreachable. A rare creature born of Middle Earth must undo the damage of her predecessor, who helped forge the Dark Lord's Ring of Power. Amidst her mental and physical weaknesses, she is challenged to become a warrior. If not, endless lives will be corrupted and extinguished. What is the key to defeating the shadows that threaten Middle Earth as well as the darkness that intends to smother her soul? Mirkwood is no exception to the kingdoms that are threatened by the Shadow. Instead of sailing to the undying lands, King Thranduil remains, creating a rift between him and Legolas, who stands against his father's pride and what appears to be insensibility. As he journeys with the Fellowship to destroy the Ring of Power, he begins to peel the layers of the mystery surrounding Mirkwood and himself - a mystery that draws him closer to the maiden that travels with them. The earthborn must sacrifice all to fulfill her destiny - desires for a peaceful life, family, fellowship, and love. Will those she journeys with encourage her selfless intentions, or will they challenge her being and all that she desires? Uncover the secrets of Mirkwood, witness the earthborn's battle, and discover the element of the heart. ***I do not own or have any affiliation with J.R.R. AFTER the Battle of Five Armies, an elf prince journeys to the north of Middle Earth in search of the mysterious Strider. But to also escape the grief of a 'love unspoken' as well as the oppressive regime of his father, King Thranduil. There among the Dúnedain, Legolas finds friendship, adventure, a sense of humor and a female ranger who is not quite what she seems. Is he fated to forever love another unrequited? And what of the broken relationship with his father, will the prince's choices drive a deeper wedge between them? A classic love story, filled with adventure and intrigue, but ALSO a journey into the unwritten years of the beginning of an epic friendship with Aragorn; all set prior to 'The Lord of the Rings'. *Feb 2018: 2nd in The Middle Earth Awards* *June 2018: 2nd in Arkenstone (The Hobbit) category, The Tolkien Awards* *July 2018: Official Featured Wattpad Fanfiction* *Jan 2019: #3 in Romance Hotlist (181k stories) -0-0-0-0-0- I may have nicknamed this story 'Pride and Prejudice for Elves', our silver-haired princeling has several centuries of repression he needs to work through, as well lighten up - before he can become the elf that we know and love in LOTR! The story is COMPLETE! All votes and comments greatly appreciated. I'd be absolutely thrilled to have you join me on this journey of self-discovery in Middle Earth. The best writing in this story belongs to @GreenScholarTales, who kindly allowed me to weave my romance into her story, 'Starting Anew.' Please go and see her other works and her original series on Wattpad, The Book of Terrus. The beautiful painting on the cover was kindly loaned by the highly talented Irishmellow, see her awesome work at https://irishmellow.deviantart.com/ Copyright: Tolkien owns all the familiar characters, Jackson & Co. own Tauriel and the starting premise, Green Scholar owns several significant events and almost all of the rangers ... but one, Wren, she is all mine!

Aeolin of Lothlorien has been traveling across Middle Earth for a little over a hundred years. After a loss struck her heart, Lothlorien was more of a reminder of it than a home. Aeolin decides to stop by the Woodland Realm to see a friend and, of course, meets the King of Mirkwood. Intrigued by how such a hard man could raise such a kind son, she tends to push her luck with the king and may enjoy it just a bit too much. But perhaps they have far more in common than they both realize? And perhaps the both of them will find something in the other that they've been searching for? *I DO NOT OWN LOTR OR THE HOBBIT. I ONLY OWN THE CHARACTERS AND SCENARIOS I CREATE.*
