“Hey Haz.” Louis tried carefully, staring at the hollow shell of a boy that stood in front of him, looking back at him dopily. “What do you know, it talks.” He murmured to himself, eyes running up and down Louis’ body to take everything in. “Of course I talk, it’s really me, Harry.” Louis voice came out a bit thick, wondering what was going to happen. Something changed in Harry’s face the moment he realised he wasn’t talking to himself, that he was talking to Louis. The Louis that he was supposed to never see again, the Louis that left three years ago to move on. He was real, in front of him, talking, breathing, being. The Louis that ruined him.

Summary: Louis finds himself out of place in LA, unable to get at an itch that's been bothering him for years. He supposes back in the early days, home hadn't been a place. It'd been a person. He'd etched it permanently into his skin for fucks sake. It was always him and Harry. Stuck to each other like super glue. Pulled together by some magnetic force, existing in their own bubble. During December, Harry asks Louis asks something that he has to say no to and causing him to tell his secret. Sobbing on his shoulder and shaking, Harry whispers to him how much he loves him because Louis a tumor growing behind his heart and it wasn't removable for it was in a fatal spot. So he was bound to die in a year. Or less.
