Steve dragged his hands down his face, sighing heavily. "Fine. I really shouldn't be telling you this, but... you promise to go easy on her when I tell you?"
"You're asking the god of mischief to make a promise. Does that make any sense to you?"
"God damn it- you know what, fine. Kyle is Eleanor's ex-boyfriend, who abused her in a multitude of ways that really messed with her head. Tony found her after she had fled from Kyle, all bloody and bruised and hiding from some sketchy men in a bar. He brought her back here, trained her a bit, and now she's a part of the team while she's recovering. When you so rudely barged into her room, it triggered her memories and she probably had a panic attack. That room is like her safe space, it's the only place she feels comfortable enough to let it all out."
"..." Loki visibly frowned.
"Do you understand now?"

"Loki, pleas-" My plea was cut shot as a burst of energy and the distinctive clang of metal on metal pushed me over into the god of mischief. We stumbled backwards until I laid on his chest and he grunted from the sudden impact. "Thor." I cursed under my breath. "Sorry..." I began lifting myself off of his body. I narrowed my gaze and quickly stood to rush into Thor's aid, ignoring his dejected expression. I was about to leap off the cliff side when I heard four words that had me frozen in my place unlike anything my powers could do. "Father?" The King's young daughter slips through the partly open door of her father's chambers. "Father!" She whispers again, a note of urgency evident in her sweet voice. He hears her this time. Sees her, too. He snaps himself out of this post-nightmare haze and focuses on her. "Nightmare?" He asks the infant softly. She nods and hugs her stuffed horse closer to her chest. "Can... can I stay with you?" she squeaks. He ponders this for a moment, but one look at her innocent face stained with tears of silver was enough to make up his mind. "Of course you can. Come, come here." Smiling a little, she does her best to climb up and onto the bed, but, like always, is too short to make it on her own. Her father chuckles lowly and leans down to pick her up, receiving a quiet "Thank you, Father" from his only daughter. She clings to him and he wraps his arms around her, and in perfect silence they embrace. "Will you tell me about the dream?" He eventually asks. He strokes her straight, snow-white hair and gazes into her delicate eyes, those too, white in colour. "You are sad. Will you tell me what you saw in that dream?" he does his best to coax it out of her whilst remaining soft and patient. She has had too many nightmares recently, just like her father. She sniffs, and whispers, "In a minute." After King Loki's wife was murdered three days after giving birth to their daughter, Loki must face the challenges of raising a daughter whilst dealing with his own grief. The cold water dripped inside on my cell, as the droplets hit my bare back, I could only shudder from the feel. I knew he would be back any given minute. He had another PR meeting with his team, Captain America, what a joke. If only they really knew who he was. A monster that Hydra cooked up. I could hear the other man groaning, they had started pumping him with more super soldier serum to keep him alive, but his body was rejecting it. Whenever I was able to, I would sneak off to the corner of my cell and talk to him, he would never respond, but I had a feeling it comforted him knowing I was here for him. Like I had a choice. Where could I go? I couldn't remember who I was, not strong enough to fight off Steve, or smart enough to get myself out.
