If you had told Darling Pagol that by the end of her senior year of high school she would be the most popular kid in her class, she would never have believed it. Then again, it's not like there are any other options for the role. Everyone else is dead.
The play was supposed to be a revolutionary idea. No longer would Melancholy High recycle the old musicals that had been performed since Darling's parents had been in school. This year, the staff had decided that the drama club would create their own production- complete with a full script, stunning sets, and hilarious songs. As the craze of planning sets in, however, Darling begins to notice that things are off with her classmates, starting with the weird sickness every cast member is seeming to develop.
