They Named Me Chin-Sun

The only way for our country to succeed is by promoting our leaders success, the first time I heard that line I was only 5 years. For a 16th birthday, a girl should have a perfect party and family gathered together but where I live is a little bit different. We don't exactly celebrate our birthdays. We can't even say the word happy because that word stopped having a meaning since birth. Some never talk because they think our leader can hear everything or even know our thoughts, of course I never believed in any of that but I did believe that with one wrong move I could put my whole family in danger.

16 year old Chin-Sun was just another among many North Korean prisoners who lived in a prison camp with their family. One day out of hunger and desperation her father makes a big mistake which causes Chin-Sun to run for her life. She must decide whether give herself up or have a new beginning.
