here lives the stories & moments that have made me who I am: all of my storms and fireflies and sunflowers. here is where all my sleepless nights & dream-like days live, where the skies would weep grey and the spanish moss would sway in the wind. this is the story of my growing up, the bittersweet moments, & all the beauty i found in pain. all i hope is that you can find something in it too. . . . . . author's note: this is an excerpt of a book i wrote entitled "things i've learned from strangers". the book not only includes these poems, but interviews i conducted with strangers out in my community relating to living, hurting, & growing. the pdf can be found in my "about" section.
