Life in the Dark poem is about a time when I was a kid with crazy thoughts and wild imaginations. One of this thoughts was that i was born black, but I'll grow up to be white in the future. I thought about this for a brief moment, and I wasn't serious about it, or driven by the thought to change myself. But looking back at it, it was a weird thought to have. Especially growing up black, amongst black adults, wondering how comes they didn't turn white. Eventually I came to my senses and realised the truth. White is beautiful, but I'm black! And I love it! I wrote this poem in my perceptive, and in support of kids growing up or adults who have grown up thinking weird things like this. for whatever reason, It's better to love yourself, than to want to be someone or something else.
