The Sovereign is dead.
The vampire kingdom of Dracacre is under threat by the Scion cult which will stop at nothing to bring back the one they call Maker from the dead. 
Their goal is to take the throne.
And the Five Kingdoms. 

Now the new Sovereign is here and must be protected at all costs.
Problem is, he doesn't know the first thing about ruling a kingdom.
Or how to fight a war.
Or that he is a vampire.

Thousands of centuries ago humans, vampires, and werewolves lived together in harmony, considering one equal to the other.
