  Nemera Cavanaugh was a good cop and a capable member of the mixed SWAT team. As a Motav hybrid she had seen her share of prejudice and it had never stopped her from going for what she wanted. Her biggest problem, however,  wasn't bigots-it was the needs of her mixed heritage. Finding a mate that satisfied both her Tav cat instincts and her Mota emotions was proving difficult. In addition, Nemera was a full foot taller than the tallest Tav male. Only a Roki would be taller, and the Roki were notorious as the racial snobs of the cat races.
  
  When a vicious felon flees the Roki homeland to further his nefarious ambitions in her town, he's followed by Tau Zuberi, the Roki Detective that nearly caught him. Despite her dislike of Roki in general, Nemera finds herself and her partner teamed with Zuberi to stop a dangerous criminal mastermind from taking over the entire Drelian criminal underworld. Will Tau prove to be a snob ... Or a hero?
