After a fire burns down her small Russian village, Killing all of her family save for her younger brother, Svetlana leaves with him and their American friend, Carl who had been living in the same village for awhile, after losing his wife. While staying with Carl, Svetlana meets Andrew and gets introduce to the world of supernatural, that she had only heard through fables told in her village made to scare children out of the forest.
