The Dreamer is a steampunk book with fairytales in the corners.

In the land of Grimmonbourne, the cobbled streets and distant layers of society met with steam mechanisms and fairytales crippling by the edges.

In the upper class was Emerett Wells, son of a rich woman--though his birth was frowned upon--who had relations to royalty. He was the perfect dream man--albeit, a mama's boy, polite and gentle and perfect in almost every way.

Except for, as they all claimed, the colour of his skin.

Added with his dark dreams and visions of nightmarish creätures of the night, Emerett was already different to start with. But it got worse the day he was to be engaged.

On the day where his heart would bloom, his horrors became more than visions of a dream, thrown out to the dangerous life of the streets.

Cat was a Magician. She was made for the streets, and she was a bit of a mystery.

Every fiber in her being was of manipulation and trickery, content with her job as a performer by day, and something else by night. She'd seen a good deal of things within 16 years of life--but she had never expected to meet with a freezing, half-dead form of Emerett Wells.

Things got complicated from there. And it sailed further south when Cat's enemy came into the loop.

With help from the fiddling, hat-loving girl, join Emerett as he learned his way to grow, live, and love--uncovering the dark secrets lingering in the shadows of Grimmonbourne while finding the courage to believe in his own strength.
