My head felt like it was splitting in two. I could feel the tears prickling behind my eyes again, threatening yet another downpour. Around me, the rest of the cast rushed by, gathering their clothes and bags in preparation for the night ahead. We'd just finished rehearsal and were slated to grab a drink altogether at the bar down the street. It was a ritual I loved and normally made a priority, but tonight I'd have to bail. The pain had become all-consuming-my head pulsed like a sledgehammer, my eyes now wet, on the brink of overflow. Unsure of what was going on, I gathered the shred of residual strength I possessed and used it to get home...

I gasped and choked in pain. My body felt like it was on fire and I couldn't breathe. I could feel every nerve in me twitch and my body moved with it. No part of me was still. I was pulling at my restraints one minute, and then I was jerking in pain the next. There was no room for being still. I am wide awake. At 3 am, and all I can think about is him, turned to his left, left cheek squished onto his pillow, eyes shut, not tight shut but gently shut. Him breathing quietly and a soft light from the window falling upon his face. Sleeping. All I can think about is how he is at peace, sleeping without a care in the world. Even if tomorrow he would wake up stressed and agitated. Right now he is asleep, peacefully, and here I am. Staring at the ceiling, begging to god to stop the pain, my hands entwined together, saying to him that I'm tired and that I'm not as strong as He thinks I am. I still believed in Him, because whenever I lost faith, I got a reason right away to not lose it. My dearest was at peace, he was happy without me. And this time I knew. He was not coming back. He was gone. And all my memories of his smile, his hair, his body scent, his hands, the scars on his body, his two vampire-like teeth, his expressions, his cheesy lines, his eyes. His eyelashes, eyebrows, and the way he used to light up after seeing me rushed in. Of how his eyes didn't shine when we met for the last time. How I missed the special way we used to say goodbye. "Love isn't real" I mumbled looking down at me shaking hands. I felt his breath on my neck as he stood behind me. One of his hands was sliding up my hip to rest on my waist squeezing softy. Declan worked in a place his father owned not by choice but by force. His father ran a Secret restaurant worked by people who didn't have a job. They served in revealing outfits and the customers could treat them however they pleased. Declan was the most liked for his female features and body, he looked just like his mother which his father hated. He father made him feel useless, always saying rude and mean things and overall didn't care about what happened to him. He punished him when he did something wrong and never rewarded him when he was good and did his job well. An unfortunate series of events leads to Lucy waking up in an unknown apartment. The one of her work colleague and former enemy, Joshua. When Josh announces that after she fell and blacked out, he took her to his home instead of an ER to take care of her himself, Lucy doesn't understand. Until he explains that he attended med school for four years before dropping out and changing the industry.
