"Why are you so on edge?" Lance asks, as they both stand up, and he's looking past Keith outside the shop with a raised eyebrow. "What did you do?"
Oh, Keith realizes, in an instant. Lance thinks he's done something wrong. Lance thinks he is running away from the police, or some kind of gang, or something. He really couldn't be more wrong, but Keith doesn't exactly want to tell him 'Ha, I'm just running away from a bunch of dicks who were attempting to beat me up for the fifth time this week,' and so he bites his bottom lip.
What would Lance want to hear?

Lance is a popular football player. Practically the schools golden boy. His friends Hunk and Pidge add to it. They all get A's. Hunk is sweet and everybody loves him. Pidge is brilliant and people are afraid of her. Then Lance is the flirt. Attractive and all the girls love him. Then we have Shiro. Keith's older brother who used to go to Altea High. He used to play football and wants Keith to at least go to a few games so he can go too. He's engaged to Allura. A woman who helps out around the school. Keith is a loner. He's also a badass. He's not afraid to talk back to teachers and he has punched one of them. He repeatedly says it wasn't an accident but Shiro tells everyone it was. Shiro is repeatedly saving Keith from being kicked out of school and Allura usually has to help Keith with his wounds from fights inside and outside of school. People are usually scared of him and decide not to mess with him. That is until one stupidly handsome and annoyingly perfect golden boy comes into play.Complete

"S-Stay, p-please," Keith mumbled, hiding his face in his pillow. Lance nodded climbing beside the small boy. Keith turned to face him, his face flushed as he looked at Lance, "T-Thanks." "For what?" Lance whispered, his breath close enough for Keith to touch. "B-Being by my side," Keith moved closer to Lance, closing the small distance between them, "I-I thought y-you'd all hate me." I share half of my DNA with a race who has killed countless civilizations, not to mention they kidnapped Shiro and Katie's family, and they-" "Exactly, "they". "N-No but-" "No "buts", you didn't choose to be born part Galra, and you have more than proved you're a paladin." "No they don't, just give them some time to adjust," Keith turned around, pulling Lance's arm around him, "They have to get used to you. None of us hate you, not the smallest bit." Sometimes people are a lot different then you think. The first minute Lance steps into his new school he's warned about Keith Kogane. They say he's like the devil, the meanest guy you will ever meet. You better stay away from him otherwise you could get on his bad side, and then your life is over. Lance isn't the guy to judge people just because people talk about that person. But they seem to be right, as a moment later Keith throws a freshman on the ground for speaking to him. That is a sign for Lance to never even look at this guy. They are all now halfway through their second year at college and Lance finds he can't stand Allura anymore. She is nasty and self-absorbed. This story is loosely based on the paladins of Voltron. I have not watched all the seasons and have changed the back story of some characters. Hunk and Pidge went to a different planet to help people, and so did Coran and Allura. Shiro, Keith and Lance go on another mission to a planet where no one lives. They need to find a special living plant on the planet to make the Cryogenic Pods work properly again. Shiro choose the two boys because they always fought, but he hopes they won't now.
