Two police officers, Eric and Carl and life time friends. They grew up together and can acknowledge and respect the differences and struggles each race deals with on a daily basis. Both are middle aged married men with children. The caucasian Eric lives in the suburbs with his wife Diane and 17 year old daughter Makayla. Carl, the African American also lives in the suburbs with Susanne, his wife and two children, Tyler and Sam. Tyler is 17, Sam is 14. Even though Tyler and Makayla don't go the same school there's love in the air and life seems to go on as expected. Then one night a call comes in the dispatch, another black teen is shot.
