For so long, Jerry controlled every aspect of her life. When she ate, when she slept, and when he could have his way with her. He moved her all the way from her family in Georgia to a small town in Pittstown, New Jersey.

That way he could isolate her from her family, and have her all to himself.

It wasn't always like that, but after Jerry lost his job, he made new friends. Their names were Heineken, Miller, Grey Goose, & Heroine.

He would become so doped up, he would become violent.

The first few years of this spiral, he would go out drinking his weight in beer and liquor. Then he'd come home and push Melissa around. He would scream at her for hours about how it was her fault for him losing his job.

Then after a few punches, he would sober up and realize what he had done.

But no amount of empty promises stopped Jerry's demons. The drinking and drugging would continue, while Melissa would silently pray for the day she could get out of this toxic marriage.

Unfortunately, the beatings had taken their toll on Melissa's small frame and mental state. She eventually lost her insatiable taste for life, becoming complacent and stuck in a never-ending cycle of gloom.

Until Mac popped up one day.
