Eliza Tourgot was only nine when her father was sentenced to death. She watched him hang for his crimes as the local citizens cheered and pelted him with rotten food. His crime; providing for his family. Eliza has hated the capital ever since.

When she was old enough she escaped the capital with the dream of a life where food, water and shelter were provided. But now she must face the greatest terror that this land has ever seen Valko Serion. He is strong, powerful, agile and a Caerulean. He is a dark one and leader of his own pack.

When taken captive by the pack Eliza must learn to survive the hardest conditions she has ever faced and their menacing leader is no help at all. He is cruel and injust but his followers worship him. When Valko learns of his fate and the prophecy that ties Eliza to himself things might just go from bad to worse.
