"And if I fail?" I asked my handler.
"We'll find someone else to replace you. But I don't think you'll fail. I've got several bets that are placed on you winning."
I gulped. "Why?"
"Everyone loves an underdog. Just don't blow my money. Kill that crew."
I swallowed and forced my words out.
"Yessir."
Without a doubt, 3718's life was miserable. From birth, their entire life was geared towards becoming something to be used for another purpose. They were a part of a game in where they and another Impostor competed to kill off a crew for entertainment.
Whoever killed the least amount of crewmates by the end was flatlined. Along with that, there was also the fact that 3718 had to worry about getting ejected and dying that way as well.
Try and resist and you got shot.
Get caught and you were ejected.
Survive and you live with the knowledge that you ruined uncountable lives.
