In which Tauriel, Captain Of ElvenKing Thranduil of Mirkwood's Guard, is portrayed in a new, badass light.
Peter Jackson created her (seemingly solely) for a nonexistent love triangle between characters, to add romance for audience appeal.
He gave her no real purpose for the movie, other than adding unnecessary drama to the mix
(again, for audience appeal)
But what if, she was more than just a young damsel in distress, in need of a lover?
More than just a naïve, reckless figure in love?
What if, she were Mirkwood's highest ranking warrior, trained in the deadly art of defense, her main focus to protect her beloved people, (though most especially the King and his son) from whatever harm there may be in the deep dark of Mirkwood, and the evil beyond?

Her determination, skill and attitude soon ranked her higher than her comrades, who were weary of the strange elleth.
She had always been....different, than the others. And for this most of he elves kept their distance from her.
She was colder, distant, fierce.
So unlike the other elleths of Mirkwood, who preferred the warm enclosure Thranduil's halls provided.
Perhaps her cold heart and face was best explained by her past.
One that she told not a single soul....
