It all happened so quickly. One moment, young Octoling Skipper was off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, she found herself alone and without any memory in Inkopolis. The only things she remembered were the notes to a familiar tune, the bleak phrase "Promised Land", and the ever-present desire to make it there.

After being taken in by a friendly Inkling, she indeed learns that she's made it to the Promised Land -- but something is off. She got to Inkopolis in the flick of a switch, without even knowing why she wanted to get there so badly in the first place. Her journey felt... incomplete. But that didn't seem to matter to her -- she was there, and that's what she wanted, right?

However, Skipper can't help but feel like something isn't right. Despite her lack of memories, her senses tell her that something is stirring. Something deep below the happy surface of the Promised Land. 

Perhaps her forgotten adventure isn't quite over yet...

(This is an alternate storyline to the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion DLC based on a headcanon of mine. As such, there will be spoilers for those who haven't seen or played the game, so be careful. But otherwise, please enjoy!)

The fact that the team just recovered from the "Fuzzy goo invasion", and being promoted to captain, isn't really helping much with the captain's personal problems. But when Eight seems to go missing, and there are reports of an invasion where she lives, Captain Three starts getting worried. DISCLAIMER: I have not played the latest splatoon game yet, so NO SPOILERS PLZ. Everything here that relates to the game is pure speculation from the trailer. Agent 8 feels unsure and unwelcomed to the city as he is forced to hide his identity as not all inklings accept Octolings into their home. Not only that, but he also has a problem with getting along with Agent 3! But what happens if a mysterious, unknown threat comes toward the surface, threatening to destroy both Inkling and Octoling kind alike? Can the agents work together to save their race? Or would their city population be washed away for good? _________________ This story takes place after the events of Octo Expansion Hi and welcome to my 2nd book! First of all thanks for reading this and I hope you'll stick to the end and find the story entertaining. Secondly, I am a big fan of Splatoon though I am still a bit of a newbie to it. Most likely I could miss out on certain details so don't hesitate to point those out to me. I'm also open to any more suggestions to improve this fanfiction. Her hair color is white and changes color depending on what she wants and almost always changes her hair style. She also changes eye color constantly. So sometimes no one even recognizes her. She heard of rumors of the old subway station and she's seen another inkling who's told her that he's an agent...agent 4, near what seems to be a sewer? What happens when she wanders into both paths and ends up in deeper ink than she intended to? Read the book to find out duh.... XD
