University during the day and fighting villains at night is a full time schedule for Marinette. She is studying fashion design, 3 years after high school, and is enjoying every second, putting the past behind her, excluding her alter ego, she has marched forward, ready to pursue a fashion career. She was happy, after what happened.
During 11th grade, Adrien left. He left without saying goodbye to anyone, which confused Marinette. She was cracked, ready to break. Chloe, in a fit of sadness was akumatised, signalling Marinette to transform. Chat appeared, although didn't say much. After the akuma was defeated, he pulled Ladybug aside.
"I can't do this anymore." He admitted, shocking Ladybug. "I can't put my life on the line for people that don't care for the real me." He paused, clearly depressed and emotional. "I can't be your partner anymore."
He left after that, leaving Ladybug frozen, and most definitely broken. The two guys in her life, her crush and her partner... gone.
Three years past and she is still broken, she just happens to be good at hiding things. Her and Alya have gotten a lot closer, along with Nino. They were a trio, holding each other together.
Marinette was finally content, ready to move on from Adrien and Chat Noir, or so she says.

Being superheroes is a privilege given by mysterious, magical creatures called Kwamis. Tikki is Ladybug's Kwami, supporting Marinette. And Plagg is Chat noir's Kwami, a Camembert cheese maniac. Ever sense chat blanc was a thing Marinette didn't know what a good nights rest was anymore. Chat blanc haunted her though day and night. She was barely living anymore. It didn't help her friends were starting to notice. She couldn't tell any of them though, not this anyway. What would she do though when her partner shows up to help her? See the worry in his eyes? Could she tell him in? Let him help even if he was the very reason she was so afraid?
Everyone Needs a Safe Place
Adrien had gotten into one of the biggest arguments he had ever had with his father, leading him to run from his home as his alter ego, Chat Noir. They had grown apart since his mother's disappearance. Adrien always tried to speak with his father and try but he was always busy or away. He finally snapped at his father. But where would he go for the night? He had to find someone he could trust. Marinette wasn't expecting Chat Noir to show up on her balcony with red eyes filled with tears. Her first thought after seeing him was the akumatized version of him, Chat Blanc. She immediately brings him inside, making it her job to help him. She was not going to let her partner become her worst nightmare. He needed some place to feel safe? She would become that. It became an everyday thing. Chat Noir would visit Marinette every day, they would talk about their days as Chat tried to keep his as dense as possible to not reveal his identity. They would play video games and eat food from the bakery. But what happens when something happens to Marinette that makes her break? Marinette has no where to go so Chat decides to be that place. But she's injured protecting him from an akuma and he feels responsible for her. Intent on making it up to her, Chat Noir visits her regularly to make sure she's doing well. But it doesn't take long before their meetings become more than just casual check-ups. Bad things happen when superheroes fall for civilians, but even with the threat of Hawk Moth looming around, Chat can't seem to stay away. Will the risks be worth it in the end?
